アニメーターからオリジナルの造形作品を発表するフリーの造形作家へ転身。
「生物と機械の融合」「生命の造形の美しさ」をテーマに様々な素材を組みわせたミクスチャーコラージュモデリングを得意とする。
スターウォーズなど古典的なSF映画や、日本のアニメーション、サブカルチャー造形作品に影響を受け、
そこに海洋水棲生物をデザインモチーフに加えた作風は日本のみならず海外からも注目をされている。
2021年プレストとコラボレーションした「海の十二支®︎」アーティストスタチューシリーズを発表。
氏の造形作品を初めて最新のデジタル技術で徹底的にレプリケーションし、氏のファン・コレクターへ届けた。

◆作品解説◆
背中と腹部にみっちり凝縮されて施された機械的ディテール。それとは対象的に生物的優雅な曲線で造形された丸みを帯びたフォルム。静と動のコントラストが相まって村瀬材木独特の世界観が表現されています。今年のモチーフテーマは「デザインの力強さ」と語るように、縄文式土器のプリミティブな迫力あるデザインを要所に取り入れ、新たなデザインの地平を切り拓いた感のある作品となっています。正面から見ると真円にみえるシルエットはアメフラシの変幻自在な柔軟さを表し、浮かび上がる陰影は大変美しいものになっています。どの角度から見ても違う表情を見ることができ、いつまでも見飽きることにない造形美に溢れています。

◆Description◆
Mechanical details are condensed and applied to the back and abdomen. The rounded form is sculpted with graceful biological curves. The contrast between stillness and movement together expresses Murase Zaimoku's unique world view. As the theme of this year's motif is "Strength of Design", the primitive and powerful design of Jomon earthenware is incorporated in key places, giving the work a sense of opening up new design horizons. The silhouette, which looks like a perfect circle when seen from the front, represents the flexibility of the ameflower, and the shadows that emerge are extremely beautiful. The piece has a different look from every angle, and is full of formative beauty that will never grow tired of looking at.

◆造形作家村瀬材木の進化とその再現◆
今年は世界的サブカルチャーアーティスト、アシュレイ・ウッド氏とのコラボレーションも決まり、ますます活躍の場が世界に広がっています。氏の作品を熱望するファンも海外をはじめ爆発的に増えているのですが、氏の作品は一点物で制作にも時間が大変かかることから現在非常に入手困難となっています。 当社では2021年海牛ジュゴン、2022年海虎シャチのレプリカスタチューを世に出してきました。彼の毎年高度化する造形ディテールに対応すべく常に最新のデジタル技術を導入して参りましたが、2023年海兎アメフラシではさらにオリジナルに近づけるべく、X線CTスキャン技術を導入し完全完璧な造形の再現を試みました。 またペイントも氏による妥協なき完全監修で本人も自分が塗ったのではと見間違えるレベルで独特な氏のタッチを再現を実現。3年目のコラボレーションという事でより本物に近い、まさに実物といってもいいスタチューに仕上げることを目標にしております。氏の作品を求める多くの方の期待に応えるスタチューが出来たと自負しております。

◆The evolution of plastic artist Murase Zaimoku and its reproduction ◆
This year, Murase has decided to collaborate with world-renowned subculture artist Ashley Wood, and his field of activity is expanding further and further around the world. The number of fans eagerly awaiting his work is exploding, especially overseas, but it is currently extremely difficult to obtain his work as it is one-of-a-kind and production is time-consuming. The company has released replica statues of a dugong (a sea cow) in 2021 and a killer whale (a sea tiger) in 2022. We have always introduced the latest digital technology in order to respond to the increasing sophistication of his sculpting details each year, and for the 2023 Amefurashi Sea Rabbit we have introduced X-ray CT scan technology in order to reproduce a completely perfect sculpture even closer to the original. We aim to reproduce the unique touch of Mr. Amefurashi, and to make the statue closer to the real thing, so that it can be called a real statue. We are proud to have produced a statue that meets the expectations of the many people who seek his work.
